Technical Skills

I have gained many valueable technical skills while attending Pacific.  I have a working knowledge on using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office including Powerpoint, Excel, and Word.  I have also completed a year of co-op expericence.  I worked for Hawaiian Dredging on various projects including: Nimitz Highway Rehabilitation, Ford Island kV Installation, Ward Avenue Emergency Sewer Repair, and various Waterfront projects.  While working I mainly assited the cost engineering in making sure vendors are paid, materials are bought for the project, the labors, operators and carpenters are paid, and Force Accounts are made and sent to the City or State.  While on co-op I also got a chance to observe different types of construction while working in both the Heavy and Waterfront Divisions.

I am also part of Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honor society.  This semester I am the corresponding secretary.  My main job is to communicate with Headquarters about our chapter.

Communication Skills and Teamwork

As an engineering student I have worked in various groups on many different projects.  This has allowed me to gain good teamwork skills.  While working in teams we have had to do various oral and written presentations.  Some of the projects from freshmen year have included the cardboard boat, the catapult, AutoCAD drawing project, truss project, concrete admixtures, vegetation effects in a stream, and re-designing the computer lab.  Through these projects I've learned to interact with others while completeing various projects.

Professional and Personal Growth

This is a place where you can include personal information about yourself.  Its purpose is to let you assess yourself and how you are changing during your college years.  The professional growth will come from your engineering related experiences and should reflect how you are developing as an engineer, while your personal growth can include any information which illustrates how you as a person are changing and what you are discovering about yourself.
