Comp25:
Review: Test 1
This test will be a review of everything that you have learned thus far in Comp25. It will include:
- questions taken from quizzes you have already taken, and
- new questions that didn't fit on past quizzes
You should review every lecture, reading material, assignment, and lab from the calendar in weeks 1-8 as
well as every quiz you have taken.
You should be prepared for the test by being familiar with the
following:
- Various types of computer input and output hardware, how they are rated (speed, size, etc), and how
they work with each other
- Binary and hexadecimal numbers
- The purpose of an operating system
- How a hard drive works, stores files, and can be optimized.
Sectors & clusters.
- File management concepts including paths, network shares, file names, and file extensions
- Networking protocols and concepts including mediums and devices
- What an IP address is, and other networking-related concepts
- Network troubleshooting tools such as ping and trace route
- What a domain name is, what makes one valid, and how they are managed
- Security
- General concepts regarding website creation and design
- Basic HTML tags and markup, including the basic structure of an HTML document, making links, images,
and tables
- Cascading style sheets codes as well as codes to link CSS to
HTML pages.
- How to find and correct errors in style sheets
- Codes to create a <table> with rows, headers and data cells.
- Know the difference between Java and Java Script
Please note that questions may appear on your test that were not included on the review topics above.
This Test is 10% of your entire grade in this course. |
