Founded in 1980
Headquartered in Stockton, California, Pac-West Telecomm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PACW) is a provider of integrated communications services throughout the western U.S. Pac-West focuses on two distinct customer groups: dial-up access to service providers, such as Internet service providers (ISPs) and enhanced service providers (ESPs), and integrated voice, data, and Internet services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
ISPs and Other Service Providers
Over 85% of the nation's largest ISPs use Pac-West local access numbers. Pac-West aggregates and concentrates all of its network traffic into high-volume switching sites called SuperPOPs (points of presence). By collocating equipment in our SuperPOPs or subscribing to our managed modem service, ISPs and other service providers can offer their end-users access to the Internet, paging, and other services from anywhere in our service area through a local call. This ability to collocate modems and servers in fewer locations enables our customers to achieve statewide or multi-state coverage while significantly reducing capital expenditures and maintenance requirements.
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
Pac-West is unique in that it bundles the telephone equipment, local and long distance service, data transport, Internet access, and routine maintenance into an integrated monthly service. There's no capital investment required which frees up the customer's capital for other types of expenditures. This full-service approach offers customers the ease and convenience of a single point-of-contact and single monthly bill for all their telecommunications needs.
