An Overview of One of the Leading California Engineering and Computer Science Colleges in California.

The range of major and minor degrees, the availability of student services, and the success rate of our graduates at finding post-graduate employment are what you would expect from one of the leading California engineering and computer science schools. Programs and curriculum are summarized below.

Curriculum

First two years: Math, science, general education, and a few basic engineering courses

You do not have to declare your major until your junior year.

First semester includes excellent class, Introduction to Engineering:

"What is engineering"
Develop elementary design skills
Success strategies for college

Comprehensive, lab-intensive approach
Much hands-on experience

All the engineering students receive twelve months of paid, practical experience under a degreed engineer. (See Co-op.)

All the computer science students complete one semester of experiential education.

Accreditation

Our engineering majors are accredited by ABET * The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology

This is with the exception of Bioengineering, for which we have yet to request an ABET review.

The University of the Pacific is accredited by WASC – The Western Association for Schools and Colleges.

85% of our engineering students report they could go to work for at least one of their two previous Co-op employers upon graduations. More than half do.
