DESCRIPTION OR INDEX TO ATTACHED DESCRIPTION:

I. General Description:
The spring area meetings gather together new and old officers of local chapters to discuss and learn chapter operations. Due to the size of District 15, the area meetings are split into Northern and Southern sections. We hosted the Northern meeting.

II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBPi:
The area meetings serve to ensure continuity in chapters by bringing old and new officers together.

III. Organization & Administration: in conjunction with another group? No
The District Directors coordinated the activities and publicity for the day. Our chapter provided a map and signs to the site, as well as purchasing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the attendees. Two members drove to the Sacramento Airport to pick up Director of Engineering Futures Ron Hickling, who ran an EF session for meeting.

IV. Cost & Personnel Requirements:
The chapter incurred the cost of breakfast, which came to about $25 for approximately 24 people. The District funded lunch and dinner, which cost about $100 each. The chapter president ordered and picked up lunch from a local Mexican restaurant, and pizza was delivered for dinner.

V. Special Problems:
There were no problems other than a blown-out tire on the way to the airport which delayed the arrival of Mr. Hickling to the meeting.

VI. Over-all Evaluation/Results (Be specific):
District meetings are a valuable way to learn about the logistics of running a chapter, as well as a fun chance to socialize with other Tau Bates. The day went very well, everyone was well fed, and we were glad to have the chance to host the occasion.
