DESCRIPTION OR INDEX TO ATTACHED DESCRIPTION:

I. General Description:
In celebration of National Engineer's Day, the School of Engineering hosted students from local high schools and community colleges, allowing them to tour buildings and labs and attend demonstrations. Under the direction of Dr. Ross, Tau Bates helped the visitors surf the World-Wide Web on the Engineering workstations.

II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBPi:
By fostering an interest in computer applications, it is hoped that these students will be excited and open to the many opportunities that lie ahead of them. The Web will also hopefully provide them with a useful tool for their studies.

III. Organization & Administration: in conjunction with another group? Yes
The School of Engineering coordinated the events and invited the participants.

IV. Cost & Personnel Requirements:
No cost was incurred by the chapter. Five workstations were available, and one Tau Bate assisted students at each workstation.

V. Special Problems:
None.

VI. Over-all Evaluation/Results (Be specific):
The students were very receptive to learning about the Web, as most had never used it before.
