Delta Gamma Philanthropy |
Delta Gammas are committed to providing assistance to those who need it. Each year, as a fraternity, we donate over a million dollars to causes such as Service for Sight, Aide to the Blind, and other charitable, scientific, and educational organizations. Because over half of all blindness can be prevented, Delta Gamma is especially dedicated to helping those who cannot see. We donate funds, glasses, books, and even work with blind children to create special books just for them. As a chapter, Delta Epsilon last year alone donated thousands of dollars and over 700 hours of our time to community and national institutions. We are proud of all the work we have done and will continue to do, and of all the differences we have made, but we are particularly pleased with the accomplishments we have achieved through our annual event, Anchor Splash, an event with which we raise thousands of dollars for the Delta Gamma philanthropies and the local Blind Center.

| Anchor Splash |
Anchor Splash is a campus wide event in which sororities, fraternities, and other campus organizations compete in a spirited and fun-filled swim meet. The proceeds raised through this event traditionally total between two and three thousands dollars. In the weeks leading up to the event, Delta Gammas sell t-shirts and raffle tickets to students, faculty, and other members of the community. At the same time, teams participate in fundraisers including the "most beautiful eyes contest", in which the money raised earns the team points for the final competition. Teams from each organization pay a small fee to participate in relays including the sweatshirt race (competitors must swim while wearing a wet sweatshirt and then pass it to their next teammate) and other swimming competitions. Members of the fraternities are also able to compete in a synchronized swim and for a chance at the title of Mr. Anchor Splash. The event is not only effective at raising money for charity, but the entire campus comes together to have a wonderful time.
