What is Theta Chi?
Theta Chi operates under two governing principles: Our motto, "the Assisting Hand" and our maxim, "Alma Mater first, Theta Chi for Alma Mater". Our motto shows us to be an organization about giving. Our members are encouraged to participate in a variety of philanthropic and community service projects. In addition, it is expected that a member offer assistance to any person, Theta Chi or not, should the need arise. Our maxim encapsulates our love and respect for our Alma Mater. The members of Theta Chi's were first students of a University, and second a brother of Theta Chi, and thus we owe it to our Alma Mater to focused in our studies and motivated in our efforts in campus activities.
The Brotherhood of Theta Chi is a group of men who have become true friends. They aspire to be gentlemen in every regard and strive towards temperance. These goals are emphasized in our New Member Education and Member Education programs. In these programs we teach what it means to be a gentleman, how to succeed at interviews and how to write resumes or graduate applications. We are not a group of identical men. Instead we are a diverse group of men who work to better themselves by becoming a part of an organization focused on success. If you ask college graduates 10 years after graduation what they remember they will not talk about wild parties or women, they reminisce about past conversations with good friends and the life experiences they gained. Theta Chi strives to instill these memories in its members.
Our brothers also partake in many activities together. We attend national and local philanthropic events, participate in campus clubs and government, and support other Greek-sponsored programs. Through these activities our members stay involved in the local and campus community.
