Welcome back to the Spring 2005 Semester at Pacific!

As we enter this spring semester, Omega Phi Alpha is still in the re-affiliation process with Delta Upsilon.  This process began in early 2004.  The decision to re-affiliate was reached with the help of our Alumni Corporation Board, which fully supports the re-affiliation.  The Board of Directors of Delta Upsilon International made it official Friday, January 9, 2004 when they voted to bring Omega Phi Alpha back into the Delta Upsilon family as the Pacific Omega Phi Alpha Colony of Delta Upsilon.  Omega Phi Alpha will become the Pacific Omega Phi Alpha Chapter of Delta Upsilon as soon as the formal procedure for re-affiliation is completed. Omega Phi Alpha was originally founded at the University of The Pacific in 1921.  In 1959 Omega Phi Alpha set the trend among UOP's local fraternities by affiliating with a national fraternity, Delta Upsilon.  In 1972, without any feelings of ill-will, Omega Phi Alpha decided to end its affiliation with Delta Upsilon, and remain as a local fraternity.  There are many great reasons why Omega Phi Alpha chooses to once again re-affiliate with Delta Upsilon.  The image to the right, which also appears on this year's rush t-shirts, sums it all up:  The Omega Phi / DU chapter at Pacific will live on as the oldest and richest in tradition of all the  fraternities the University of The Pacific has to offer.
