Kilusan Pilipino means Pilipino Movement.  This what our club stands for. As members we have chosen to take a step forward into tradition and pride: Pilipino Pride! This club unites the many Pilipino students of UOP as well as other students from different culutural and ethnic backgrounds.

The Kilusan Pilipino Club is not an organization that provokes superiority over other cultures. It is designed to educate the UOP student body and its faculty as well as the community, of the the many aspects of Pilipino culture and history, as well as providing an outlet to socialize and meet new people.

TRADITION

The logo that represents the Kilusan Pilipino Club is more than just a symbol. It represents each element of our Pilipino Movement.

The flag represent none other than the Philippine Islands. Within the white triangle are three Stars. They stand for the three main island groups of the 7,100 (high tide) 7,101 (low tide) islands which make up the Philippines: Luzon, Mindanao, and Visaya. The eight rays of the Sun represent the first eight colonies that revolted against the Spanish. The color blue stands for integrity, red for courage, and white for purity.

The flag takes the shape of a shield. This is because Kilusan believes that knowing the Pilipino culture should not be used to attack, but to defend its own.

Supporting and sheltering the Shield are bamboo sticks. These are symbols of the strength of Kilusan and all Pilipinos. The roof above the shield holds it all together......Kilusan, Pilipinos, the World. We all live under one roof as a family, and unity shall always remain among us all.
