Course Expectations - What do I expect to get out of this class?

At first look at this class, I simply wanted to learn how to create graphics.  After a couple days of class, I still want to do that but, my expectation is to create graphics that I could maybe make a career out of.  Who knows, maybe I'll be one of those programmers working at Shrek 2 or any other animationed film.

Sample work

Example 1 - Created using stipple patterns, edge flags, and vertices.

Example 2 - Can Opener created with B. Sheffield.

Example 3 - Final program assignment, only worked with help from Professor Stark.  Used lighting, and simple primitives.

Reflection:
Computer Graphics has been one of those fun courses but has included it's struggles. The first few assignments were relatlively easy to do. Out of the first 5, I am most proud of assignment 4, combining stippling and edge flags with simple verices. This took a while for me to complete but out of the first 5 assignments, I was most proud of this particular one.

Regarding assignments 6 up till now, I had a difficult time working on those. I think my difficulty was due to the complex topics but also having to work within a group structure. Up till now in our college educations, it is assumed that every class we've taken is added to our knowledge base making us all knowledgeable students. But in reality, the struggling through the classes only force us to get by.  So with this fact, I realize that the struggles of both my group members and I came directly from not knowing completely how to do everything. For example, the assignment 6 was pretty difficult due to the fact that after getting all of our parts put together, we had a problem with seeing all of the images. This was primarily due to the viewing volume. Then assignment 9 was hard for our group because of trying to get the make file working correctly. We did but not without a lot of struggling.

Overall, this class has been fun and I would recommend to anyone who wants to take a fun class. Combining how well the class was taught with the "fun factor" make this class two thumbs up and worth the the time and units.
