Parabolic Food Aid Delivery SystemFall 2002- ENGR 5, Introduction to EngineeringThis project is a lot harder than the cardboard vessel regatta because this project requires each team to build a device (PFAD)will will roll down a ramp (8 ft. long, 4 ft. high) and release a tissue box at the bottom of the ramp, which has a 4" wall to stop the device, over a 6'2" high wall over a distance of 10 ft. My team (Mishari Al-Nahedh and Chia Lee) and I work several hours non-stop on the project for several days. It's not an easy poject, the PFAD mush exert only a certain amount of force on the tissue box to land correctly on the target. Thus, it requires us to look for certain materials (ex. the length and force of the springs) so the PFAD won't land the tissue box out of the target area.
