Communication Skills and Teamwork

Throughout life I have had many chances to work in teams and improve my communication skills. I have had many teamwork experiences with organizations like Rotary club, Key Club and RHA. Throughout high school, my involvement in Rotary club help me develop teamwork and communications skills. I became President of the club which required me to speak in front of the members weekly and also work with the other officers in order to plan events.

This semester of college has also taught me many things. While doing our design projects, I was required to work with teammates so had difference schedules and preferences. This allow me to develop flexibility and planning skills. Also the oral presentations in Engineering 5 Lab allowed me allowed me to improve my communication skills.

There are a few things I believe I need improvement on. When I work in a team, I need to be able to open to new ideas and listen to my partners. Also I would like to be able to speak in front of large groups comfortably.

Professional and Personal Growth

By coming to University of the Pacific, I has allowed me to grown greatly. For the months that I have attended college, I personally have not changed very much but I have been able to learn many new things and experience a new type of environment. Although it is a change to washing my own clothes and having to take care of myself, I have learned to be self relent and wash my clothes when I need to. Also, I have never been in a lecture type of course before and that is a new experience that I have gained. My personal strengths are that i am able to take care of myself, but also I would like to improve my ability to keep my room clean.
