The 26th Annual California10 PA/USATF 10M Championship race was successful on Sunday January 11, 1998. The Cal 10 road race took place at the San Joaquin General Hospital, French Camp, California. James Menon of San Luis Obispo won the race in a time of 49 minutes, 51 seconds. Dave Scudamore, the 1997 champion, came in second in a time of 50 minutes, 3 seconds. Ramona Young of Watsonville won the female title in a time of 1 hour, 1 minute and 12 seconds.
